26/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – EU co-legislators parted on Wednesday 25 April without managing to come to agreement on the electronic communications code. They resolved the issue of end users with disabilities (articles 80:5 and 103) and approved the agreements reached previously in technical meetings on Articles 49, 50, 87-91 and 105. Nonetheless, in general terms, little progress was made at this meeting. Several questions remain outstanding on access and universal service obligations, principally the issue of intra-EU international calls. The co-legislators are due to meet again on 5 June but could convene earlier, perhaps in mid-May, a source close to the matter told us. (SPj)
