13/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – A report by the European Environment Agency dated Thursday 12 April recognises that a large majority of European Union member states have introduced incentives to encourage the purchase of low-emission vehicles (low CO2 emissions), leading to lower emissions from new private vehicles. The document points out that in order to further speed up the purchase and use of electric cars, the member states need to introduce more recharging points, since only eleven countries in the European Economic Area (EEA) have provided aid for installing recharging stations. The European Commission unveiled an action plan in November 2017 on alternative fuel infrastructure (see EUROPE 11900). See: https://bit.ly/2v6N446 (LT)
