Sofia (Bulgaria). Council of the EU. Informal Environment Council (and 11/04). – Protection of health and the environment and practical solutions to improve the quality of ambient air. – Better solutions to implement the environmental legislation of the EU: exchanges of best practice between member states; inter-sectorial cooperation on dialogues on air quality; simplification of reporting obligations and reducing the administrative burden.
Luxembourg. *Court of Justice of the EU. #Judgements: - C191/16 (Pisciotti – obligation for the member states to grant EU citizens who have travelled on their territory the same protection from extradition as they give their own nationals); - C-320/16 (Uber France – possibility for member states to prohibit and punish the illegal operation of transport in the framework of the Uberpop service under criminal law without first notifying the draft law to the Commission). #Conclusions: - C-89/17 (Banger – obligation for the member states to allow the entry and residence on their territory of the non-EU partners of their nationals returning from another member state in which they have established or reinforced family links); - C-154/17 (E LATS – possibility to treat as second-hand goods benefiting from a more favourable VAT regime goods containing metals or precious stones resold to extract them); - C-122/17 (Smith – obligation for insurance companies to cover accidents that are not insured due to the incorrect transposition of the directive on civil liability insurance).

Council of the EU. ‘General Affairs’ Council. *Cohesion policy: discussions on the strategic context of priorities of the cohesion policy on the basis of the Commission’s proposed new multiannual financial framework and legislative package for this policy post-2020. – The Commission will set out the measures taken to reinforce communication on the cohesion policy. – Adoption of conclusions on the implementation of the cohesion policy post-2020.
Luxembourg. *Court of Justice of the EU. #Judgements: - C-550/16 (A and S - does an unaccompanied minor who reaches the age of majority during the asylum procedure retain his or her right to family reunification?); - C-13/17 (Fédération des entreprises de la beauté - in the framework of the equivalence of the qualifications of individuals responsible for assessing the safety to human health of cosmetic products, can a member state define disciplines that may be regarded as being “similar” to medicine, pharmacy or toxicology?); - C-302/17 (PPC Power – compliance with EU law of Slovak tax of 80% on the value of greenhouse gas emissions quotas that are sold or unused). #Conclusions: - C-99/17 P (Ifineon Technologies/Commission – request for cancellation of the fine of €82 million handed down to Ifineon over its alleged participation in the cartel on the chip cards market); - C-151/17 (Swedish Match-legality of the ban on the sale of snus); - C-335/17 Valcheva – do visiting rights in the field of parental responsibility include visiting rights for grandparents?).
