Member states concur with European Parliament on reform of financing and registration rules

On Wednesday, 21 February, the Committee of Permanent Representatives to EU (Coreper) reached a political agreement of principle on reforming the rules applying to the activities of European political parties and political foundations (regulation 1141/2014).

The position of the Council is similar to the one decided by the constitutional affairs committee in November (see EUROPE 11910). Just like Parliament, the member states have approved a reduction to 10% of the overall envelope fairly...
