Clara Martinez Alberola to be first female head of cabinet of a Commission president

On Wednesday 21 February, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker personally announced the appointment of Spanish national Clara Martinez Alberola as the head of his cabinet.  She will replace German national Martin Selmayr, who will take up office as secretary general of the Commission from 1 March.
