Concerns in Parliament over future of Schengen zone

At a hearing on the future of the Schengen zone, representatives of the Parliament and civil society, but also the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the Commission, expressed concern at recent and numerous infringements of the principle of freedom of movement through the temporary reintroduction, some years ago, of controls on the internal borders in certain member states.
