Parliament wants to achieve reform of Schengen Information System before end of June

On 20 February, Parliament's rapporteurs on the reform of the Schengen Information System (SIS), Portugal's Carlos Coelho and Jeroen Lenaers of the Netherlands, both EPP members, presented the members of the civil liberties committee with a stock-take on negotiations with the Council and said that they hoped the two sides would be able to reach a compromise under the Bulgarian Presidency, despite a number of problems.
