Brussels conference on 23 February aimed at mobilising international community for region's development and security

Around 30 heads of state and government of the EU and G5 Sahel (Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania and Niger) and ministers from third countries are expected at the international conference that is to be hosted by the European Union in the Commission's offices on Friday 23 February (see EUROPE 11959). 

The hope is to mobilise the international community around the development, security and stabilisation of a particularly vulnerable region of Africa, European sources said on Tuesday...
