Council and Parliament steps on revising waste directives too timid for EEB and Eurofer

For European environmental NGOs and industry, the inter-institutional agreement reached on Monday 18 December revising the EU waste directives is not the cure for all ills. It is praiseworthy, if timid, progress in speeding up the transition towards a circular economy.

The European Environmental Bureau (EEB) says that the new directives and targets will be crucial in supporting Europe in the transition towards a circular economy but regrets that member states slashed almost all targets...
