20/12/2017 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission (DG Environment) and the Bulgarian Department for the Environment are organising the 21st European Forum on Eco-innovation on 5 and 6 February in Sofia on the theme of air-quality. Participants will include: business leaders, senior civil servants, representatives from the councils, civil society, industry, engineers and scientists. They will be requested to identify ways of improving the quality of air in Europe. The deployment of new technologies for household heating, implementation of strategic urban mobility plans and ways to reduce pollution from farming practices will be at the centre of the reflection. Eco-innovation was a priority of the outgoing Estonian Presidency. This can be testified by the recent adoption of the Council's conclusions on eco-innovation for the circular economy (see EUROPE 11928). The European Forum on Eco-innovation is held every two years.
