15/11/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 15 November, the European Parliament elected Livia Járóka (EPP, Hungary) and Fabio Massimo Castaldo (EFDD, Italy) deputy presidents, replacing Hungarian Christian Democrat Ildikó Gall-Pelcz (EPP) and German Liberal Alexander Graf Lambsdorff. In March of this year, Gall-Pelcz was appointed to the Court of Auditors, while Lambsdorff is involved in discussions to form a coalition in Germany. Járóka was first elected to the European Parliament in 2004. She was elected deputy president with 290 votes. Castaldo has been an MEP since 2011 and is a member of the committee on foreign affairs and of the committee on constitutional affairs. He was elected deputy president with 325 votes. (EL)
