16 member states promise 34,400 resettlement places over two years to help refugees in several African countries

On Wednesday 15 November, the European Commissioner for Migration, Dimitris Avramopoulos, announced good news on the refugee resettlement programme front for those currently in reception in third countries. So far, 16 member states have promised 34,400 places out of the 50,000 places on the programme that the Commission launched in September, over a two-year period.
