In a resolution submitted by Laura Agea (EFDD, Italy) and adopted on Tuesday 24 October by a large majority (451 votes for, 147 against, 42 abstentions), the European Parliament called on the member states to introduce or strengthen their minimum income systems to an “adequate” level over a “transition” period, in an effort to tackle poverty and exclusion.
