17/10/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 17 October, the European External Action Service spokesperson Maja Kocijancic said that the EU regretted Serbia asking for more time to implement the agreement on judicial apparatus, when Kosovo "has fulfilled all the commitments" needed for this implementation. The agreement should have entered into force on 17 October. According to Kocijancic, "it is very important for the integration of justice and implementation of the agreement to take place because it will contribute to the rule of law in Kosovo, especially in the region of Mitrovica". This involves integrating Serbian judges, prosecutors and judicial personnel into Kosovo's judicial system (see EUROPE 11852). "It is crucial for the integration of justice to take place without further delay – in other words, as soon as possible", Kocijancic added. (CG)
