17/10/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 17 October the European Commission launched a public consultation on the future of the online European library, Europeana. The consultation runs until 14 January 2015 and is for citizens, professionals and organisations. It will help clarify how Europeana is sued and how it can be improved and made more accessible. The consultation results will help extend the offering of Europeana and give it greater visibility. At present, the website is used by around 700,000 visitors a month. They have access to 53 million objects, including images, text, sound, video and 3D from 3,700 libraries, archives, museums, galleries and audiovisual collections across Europe. (SPj)
