Unions set out their expectations for social policy ahead of State of Union speech

The Secretary General of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) presented his main expectations from the speech by the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, during a debate held the day before, on Tuesday 12 September.

The Secretary General called for the creation of a European economic and social Semester. In connection with this proposal, Mr Visentini hopes that this European Semester will include country-by-country recommendations on increasing wages in Europe...
