13/07/2017 (Agence Europe) – Economic and Financial Friars Commissioner Pierre Moscovici said on Thursday 13 July that the measures unveiled on 12 July by the French government for the French deficit-reduction trajectory bear witness to ‘credibility.’ France has to cut its public deficit to below 3% of GDP in 2017 if it wants to exit the excessive deficit proceedings next year (see EUROPE 11793). If it does, the Commission will pay attention to the structural efforts achieved by France, says Moscovici, warning that it would pay great attention to this. The Commissioner added that the European Commission and the French authorities were working together in a sprit of confidence and constructive dialogue. (LT)
