Member states adopt inter-institutional agreement tightening up directive on mutagenic and carcinogenic agents

After a false start, the member states finally adopted the first revision of the directive on the protection of workers from risks related to exposure to carcinogens and mutagens at work (Directive 2004/37/EC) at the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper), on Tuesday 11 July.

There were no changes to the text from the result of the provisional inter-institutional agreement reached in extremis under the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU at the end of June, several sources...
