The third round of technical-level talks, in Brussels on 3-7 July, for a free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay – with Venezuela being suspended from the South American bloc) saw "progress with a view to an agreement on certain key questions", the two parties announced on Friday 7 July. The next round of talks will take place in early October.
