15/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – Negotiations with London on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU will begin on 19 June, according to an agreement that was announced on 16 June between the EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier and David Davis, the British minister for Brexit. The ministers for European affairs will meet in Luxembourg on 20 June to prepare for the Brexit discussions of the European Council on 22-23 June. These discussions will cover the relocation of European agencies, amongst other things. The European Council will be briefed on the first round of negotiations with London. According to the Financial Times, the British prime minister, Theresa May, may decide to open these negotiations with a generous deal for Europeans in the UK. (SP)
