12/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 8 June, the European Commission launched a consultation to prepare the 7th report on cohesion. The consultation will end on 5 July. Under the terms of the European treaties (Article 175 TFEU), the Commission must present a report to the Council, European Parliament, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions every three years. The report draws up a balance sheet of the repercussions linked to cohesion policy and will particularly focus on macro-economic conditions (see EUROPE 11595). The Commission explains that the report does not have any prescriptive scope on the future of post-2020 cohesion policy. The results will be presented during the European Week of Regions and Cities in October this year. To consult the roadmap please see: http://bit.ly/2stD2rb. (PH)
