The celebrations in Rome of the sixtieth anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome that founded the European Union took the form on Friday 24 March of around twenty events relating to Europe, combining civil society and European and national political leaders.
This mushrooming of initiatives bears witness to the fact that the European project seems to generate as much interest, queries, worries and hopes as it did at its beginnings.
