06/03/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 3 March, the European Commission published its road map for the midterm review of the action taken by the European Maritime Security Agency (EMSA) in the fight against pollution. The aim is to assess EMSA’s “financial, environmental and socio-economic” impact on the fight against pollution in European waters, as well as the impact of the EU assistance it provides to third countries sharing a sea basin with the EU. The evaluation will cover the period from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2016. As stipulated by the regulation on EMSA’s multiannual funding (regulation 911/2014, article 7), the Commission will present its results by 31 December 2017 at the latest. (PH)
