06/03/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 6 March, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini criticised North Korea's launch of four ballistic missiles, three of which landed inside Japan's exclusive economic area zone, "in utter disregard of multiple UN Security Council Resolutions". "These actions are illegal and further raise tensions in the region and beyond", Mogherini stated in a press release. She called on Pyongyang to halt all launches using ballistic missile technology and to abandon its ballistic missile programmes. She also said that the DPRK needs to "immediately" re-engage in dialogue with the international community, and added that she would be in contact with the foreign minister of Japan and other international partners to discuss the international response "over the coming days".
