16/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 15 February, the European Commission confirmed that it had carried out unannounced inspections of the premises of businesses active in the generation, transmission and supply of electricity in Greece. It had concerns that these companies may have adopted anti-competitive practices in breach of EU rules banning the abuse of a dominant position, or that they were in possession of information relating to such practices. During these inspections, the Commission was accompanied by officials from the Hellenic Competition Commission. It has not announced the names of the companies involved and stresses that these inspections in no way prejudice the outcome of the investigation. (EL)
