On Thursday 16 February in Strasbourg, the European Parliament adopted new measures for tackling the increasing threats of “foreign fighters” travelling to conflict zones to engage in terrorism and the “lone wolves” planning attacks on their own. In this regard, they adopted a new directive to fight against terrorism, which will update the current framework provisions on terrorist crimes and expand their scope to take into account emerging threats.
