06/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 6 February, the European Commission began a public consultation on stakeholders’ opinions (volunteers and reception bodies) on the European Solidarity Corps’ priorities and how it can be strengthened (see EUROPE 11684). More than 21,000 young Europeans have already expressed their wish to take part in this new initiative that will enable them to obtain professional experience through volunteering or undertaking professional projects in which they have a work contract. The consultation will help the Commission’s reflection exercise into the legislative proposal seeking to set up the future European Corps that has been announced for the first half of this year. The online questionnaire is accessible in all official EU languages until Sunday 2 April: https://ec.europa.eu/info/content/public-consultation-european-solidarity-corps_en (MB)
