TABC calls for continued TTIP negotiations under Trump

20/01/2017 (Agence Europe)Before the inauguration on Friday 20 January of US President-elect Donald Trump, the Trans-Atlantic Business Council (TABC) called on the future US Administration for continued talks to conclude the US-EU free trade agreement (TTIP). TABC Director-General/CEO Tim Bennett stated that the TABC is encouraging talks, “to successfully conclude an ambitious, balanced, comprehensive, and high-standard agreement”. He concluded that by calling on the, “Trump Administration to prioritise US-EU trade relations, building on the substantial work that was accomplished during the TTIP negotiations and decades prior to this to pursue further regulatory cooperation where possible and conclude common agreements that will reduce unnecessary barriers in certain sectors such as cars, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals”.
