Essen will be European Green Capital from 21 January

20/01/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Saturday 21 January, the German city of Essen will officially become the European green capital for 2017, taking over from the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, the current holder of the title. A ceremony will be held for European Environment Commissioner Karmenu Vella to hand over the title to the mayor Thomas Kufen.
