18/01/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 17 January, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini spoke at length on the phone to Libya's Prime Minister Fayez Al Sarraj and invited him to come to Brussels in the coming weeks. "Federica Mogherini invited the prime minister to Brussels in the coming weeks to continue working together", the European External Action Service (EEAS) announced in a press release. According to the EEAS, Mogherini reaffirmed "the EU's full commitment to supporting the political process and the priorities defined by Libya in a number of areas, including migration and border control". She and Al Sarraj discussed the political and security situation in Libya, the support that the European Union provides to the Government of National Accord and to the Libyan people, and also the regional context and initiatives, the EEAS stated.
