Positions at Council becoming less entrenched on VAT fraud and European Public Prosecutor's Office

A majority of member states would like to provide the future European Public Prosecutor’s Office with powers that would enable it to pursue serious cross-border VAT fraud cases, according to an announcement made by Lucia Žitňanská, the Slovak minister for justice, on Friday 14 October at the end of a discussion with her European counterparts on this issue (see other article).
