The draft legislative procedure to set up the European Public Prosecutor’s Office – which will be in charge of combating attempts to defraud the financial interests of the EU – was launched in 2013 and is now on the home straight. On Friday 14 October, the majority of European ministers for justice said in Luxembourg (see EUROPE 11590) that they hoped the procedure would be completed at the Council in December.
So far, only 25 member states will be participating in this future...
