05/12/2014 (Agence Europe) - Conclusions on law practitioners. On Thursday 4 December, the Council of the EU adopted conclusions on legal practitioners, which welcome the fact that 210,000 legal practitioners in the EU (judges, prosecutors, lawyers, notaries et al) took part in training on European law between 2011 and 2013, and the fact that this is contributing to the spread of good practice in the EU. The Justice 2014-2020 programme will devote €132 million to this objective and the Council hopes that 700,000 practitioners will undergo training. In a press release, the Notaries of Europe hailed this information, published by the Commission on 3 December and was pleased to note that the number of notaries trained had doubled, to 5,271 in 2013.
