Brussels, 12/06/2014 (Agence Europe) - A delegation of European businesses is accompanying European Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship Antonio Tajani during the European Commission's mission for growth in three countries of Latin America.
Having started off in Panama on 12 June, the mission is continuing to Argentina on Friday and will finish in Paraguay on Saturday. At each step a B2B Matchmaking event will be organised, aiming to enable European businesses and their Latin American counterparts to exchange ideas on common problems and to form partnerships in fast growing sectors such as construction, new technology and the environment.
Alongside this, Tajani is to meet the authorities of each country he visits, with a view to deepening institutional relations between the EU and its Latin American partners. At the end of October, Tajani and Paraguay's Minister of Industry and Commerce Gustavo Leite will inaugurate an investment forum aimed at facilitating the economic integration of Paraguay into international trade and at promoting European investment in Paraguay.
This mission for growth is the continuation of commitments aiming to stimulate the socio-economic exchanges taken at the EU-Latin America summit in Chile in January 2013. (MB)
