Brussels, 12/06/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 10 June, the president of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), Henri Malosse, visited Algeria. He took part in the symposium on Human Development in the Era of the Post-2015 Agenda, organised by the Algerian Economic and Social Council, in collaboration with the UNDP.
An official press release stated that Malosse also met a number of Algerian civil society players. During this event, he expressed the EESC's determination to “contribute to the promotion of a structured and comprehensive dialogue between all civil society actors and decision makers in Algeria in the context of the current national reforms”.
During meetings with representatives from Algerian industry and SMEs, he discussed the issue of “progress in the European Action Plan for the neighbourhood policy between the EU and Algeria”. He took note of the Algerian private sector's expectations about the EU-Algeria agreement helping to promote “better access to technological progress and best practices international trade”. (FB).
