12/06/2014 (Agence Europe) - No deadline for submitting amendments to 2014 budget. The European Commission has denied rumours in the Portuguese press that the Portuguese government has a week - until the Eurogroup meeting on Thursday 19 June - to submit new budget measures to replace those ruled as unlawful by the country's constitutional court recently (see EUROPE 11092). A spokesman for Euro Commissioner Olli Rehn said on Thursday 12 June that he was “not aware of any deadline issued” and it was for “Portugal to react to the implications of the court decision. No comment until the Portuguese government has made a decision”. (MB)
