Brussels, 10/07/2013 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 9 July, the EU announced through its delegation in Rabat that it had decided to allocate 385 million dirham (about €35 million) to Morocco under the second phase of the SPRING programme intended for support for democratic transition in the Mediterranean. The programme has a total budget of over €500 million for the period 2011-2013, the delegation states in a press release.
The EU points out that the previous allocation from the SPRING programme to Morocco (880 million dirham out of a total envelope of 3,850 million dirham) allowed support for human rights organisations to be funded. Funding is planned for three projects that are being set up relating to employment, literacy and support for agricultural advisory services. (FB/transl.jl)
