27/04/2011 (Agence Europe) - First stage of lifting restrictions on liquids to take effect on Friday. From Friday 29 April, passengers from third countries that stop in EU airports may keep their beverages, perfumes or other liquid products bought from duty-free stores in third country airports (see EUROPE 10129). This is the first stage in easing the restrictions imposed on the transport of liquids in hand luggage imposed in 2006 further to the thwarted attacks at London airport (no more than one litre per passenger contained in recipients not exceeding 100 ml). In line with EU air security regulations (Regulation 300/2008), all restrictions should be lifted by 29 April 2013 at the latest. This first stage will not, however, apply in France, Italy and the United Kingdom which, for security reasons, have decided to keep the more stringent legislation in force. (A.By./transl.jl)
