Brussels, 24/03/2011 (Agence Europe) - Member states cannot make the opening of large retail establishments subject to economic considerations such as the impact that this will have on the existing retail trade or the market share of the undertaking concerned. Such considerations cannot justify a restriction on the freedom of establishment.
