Brussels, 25/01/2011 (Agence Europe) - Directive 2001/23/EC, which aims to protect the rights of workers in the event of transfers of undertakings, does not apply to a situation in which a public entity (in this case, the municipality of Cobisa, in Spain) decides to end a service provision contract (cleaning premises) between it and a private business (CLECE), choosing to carry out this activity itself, taking on new staff for this purpose.
