Brussels, 08/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - The EU Management Committee voted on Thursday 8 October to sell by way of tender 144 tonnes of skimmed milk powder and set a minimum selling price of €211.60 per 100 kilogrammes (the average market price is €211.40 per 100 kg). It rejected all offers for butter because the quantities left in stock have been reserved for the scheme that distributes foodstuffs to the least well off. At the next tender, the ninth, to be held on 21 October, 56,414 tonnes of intervention skimmed milk powder (the amount has been reduced to take account of the aid scheme for the least well off) will be made available for sale. No butter will be sold. (L.C./transl.rt)
