22/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 21 April, the European Commission authorised the proposed acquisition of the Rohm and Haas (USA) powder coating business by AkzoNobel N.V. (Netherlands). It concluded that, despite the overlapping of activities of the parties in the field of powder coatings, the operation envisaged would not significantly hamper effective competition in the European Economic Area or any major part of that area.
