Andris Piebalgs goes to Haiti for inauguration of first reconstruction projects funded by Commission up to €200 million

Brussels, 22/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - Andris Piebalgs, European Development Commissioner, is to make his first visit to Haiti on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 April. The commissioner's official visit to the island devastated by the earthquake on 12 January will come less than one month after the international donors' conference, “Towards a New Future for Haiti” (New York, 31 March), during which the European Union pledged to provide €1.235 billion for rebuilding the country (EUROPE...
