Brussels, 23/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - A market surveillance exercise carried out during one and a half years in 11 European Union member states has revealed that 10% of clothing for children under the age of seven did not meet safety norms and standards, the European Commission stated on Tuesday 23 March. The reason for this is that cords and drawstrings (for example in hoods) on children's wear can present a risk of strangulation.
