Vitor Constancio backed by economic and monetary affairs committee and rejects going to IMF

Brussels, 23/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - The appointment of Vitor Constancio as the vice-president of the European Central Bank (ECB) was approved by the European Parliament economic and financial affairs committee on Tuesday 23 March. The committee's recommendation will be put to the vote in the plenary session in Brussels on Thursday, with heads of state and government endorsing the decision at the European Council.
