22/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 22 February, the European Commission gave its green light to a proposed merger whereby the German company Klöckner & Co. SE hopes to take control of the companies Köhler & Lollert oHG and Umformtechnik Stendal UTS GmbH & Co. KG, which are also German, and their subsidiaries (jointly "Becker Group") by share purchase. Klöckner & Co. is an independent producer/distributor of steel and metal, which specialises in the distribution and handling of steel and nonferrous metals, plastic products and construction materials. Becker Group distributes and handles flat steel and nonferrous metals. (O.L./transl.fl)
