European Union steps up sanctions

Brussels, 23/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - In reaction to a damning report by the UN on the massacre in Conakry on 28 September, the EU decided on 22 December to step up its sanctions against the Guinean junta, with a freezing of assets and a ban on the export of equipment which might be used for internal repression.
