Brussels, 23/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - The President of Cyprus, Demetris Christofias, and the head of the Turkish Cypriot community, Mehmet Ali Talat, have agreed to step up talks on the reunification of the island. Further direct meetings between the two leaders are scheduled for 11, 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20 January, Mr Christofias and Mr Talat announced in a joint press release. In it, they also express their "strong hope that 2010 will be the year of the solution of the Cyprus problem"....
