23/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, the European Association for the Promotion of Public And Private Partnerships (E3PO) has given a warm welcome to the European Commission's communication on this particular form of public procurement. It believes that the European Union can significantly facilitate the development of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in the following way: - in the communication of information; ensuring Community financial support is appropriately facilitated with PPP funding; providing advice and assistance to member states and European regional bodies and providing administrative capacity in the execution of operations jointly involving the public and private sectors. E3PO members are active in the water and waste treatment sectors, as well as in energy, motorways and catering. (M.B.)
