23/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - Further to the political agreement enshrined at the most recent European Council, the Council on 22 December formally appointed the German Uwe Corsepius as the successor to Pierre de Boissieu in the post of Secretary General to the Council of Ministers. The mandate of Mr Corsepius, who is currently the adviser to Chancellor Angela Merkel on European issues, will start on 26 June 2011 and continue until 30 June 2015. (H.B./trans.fl)
